Wilderness survival scenarios

You are hiking in the Southern California wilderness when you lose your trail map and supplies in a sudden flash flood. You have no food, water, or shelter, and your phone has no signal. The night is approaching, and you're lost.
Your priority is finding a source of water. Look for streams or rivers, and follow them downstream to increase your chances of finding civilization. If you can't find water, look for signs of moisture, such as dew on plants, and collect it using a cloth or a plastic bag.
Next, you'll need to build a shelter to protect yourself from the elements. Look for natural protection, such as caves or rock formations, or make a simple lean-to using branches and leaves.
Without food, your body will quickly become weak, so you'll need to find sources of nourishment. Look for edible plants and berries, or try fishing if you come across a body of water.
Lastly, try to signal for help. Use a mirror or reflective object to signal planes or helicopters or build a signal fire to attract attention. It's important to stay visible and keep a positive attitude, as rescue could take several days.
Remember, survival in the wilderness requires patience, resourcefulness, and a will to survive.
