The final requirement for eligibility is a nomination from the Unit or Flight Commander.

Selection Procedures

The COM and COS awards follow comprehensive procedures to ensure a fair and transparent selection process. This process involves nominations from commanders, an interview board conducted during flex hours, and a subsequent assessment by the COM or COS Board members on several criteria, including cadets' responses, report-in and out, dress/appearance, and military bearing.
