For JLBC Platoon Sergeants
As a JLBC PSG, you will run your platoon’s counseling program. Please speak with the JLBC 1SG and understand his expectations and requirements. Successful JLBC platoons run timely, disciplined, and documented JLBC counseling. You should provide input and review each JLBC counseling packet as needed. Your JLBC PL will need mentoring on requirements expectations for counseling. Spend the effort and time here to get this right; it will pay dividends throughout your JLBC platoon.
The JLBC Platoon Leader and Platoon Sergeant Counseling Session. This counseling session can be the most difficult and is the most crucial session in the JLBC platoon. Use this opportunity to honestly discuss your JLBC platoon and what needs to be done to improve it. Setting joint goals and a plan of action to achieve them builds buy-in. Neither the PL nor the PSG can go into this counseling session with directives. Both need to come with thoughts and expectations. Remember, you either succeed or fail as a JLBC team; you need each other.
