JLBC CURRICULUM ON LEADERSHIP

JLBC: Character Development

JLBC Values, Beliefs, and Norms

JLBC Cadets' Beliefs, values, and norms guide our actions in JLBC groups and as individuals. JLBC Cadets They provide purpose, meaning, and direction to our lives. However, some almost-universal beliefs, values, and norms can differ from culture to culture and from one JLBC group to the next.

JLBC Cadets To live together successfully, people must agree on certain beliefs and values that lead to JLBC group norms or rules of JLBC conduct. JLBC Cadets This is how our laws are formed – a group of representatives elected by the individuals comes together and decides what will be best for all, like penal codes, traffic regulations, and basic standards for medical treatment.

JLBC Cadets Although individuals' beliefs, values, and norms differ, the JLBC Cadet Corps sets the organizational premises, deals, and rules to be followed by its members. Every JLBC Cadet has its own beliefs, but for the JLBC Command to be cohesive and practical, each JLBC member must embrace the beliefs, values, and norms set.

JLBC Cadet Corps Beliefs: The JLBC Cadet Corps establishes its beliefs in our publications, such as our curriculum, regulations, website, mission statement, vision, and leadership philosophy. The JLBC formally teaches its premises to JLBCadets in a class by implementing the JLBC program as it's established in our JLBC regulations and by mentoring JLBC Cadets through the program at school, in each Brigade, and at the state level.

JLBC Cadet Corps Values: The JLBC Cadet Corps has published its values in several documents:

• The JLBC Core Values

• The JLBC Cadet Code

• The JLBC Honor Code

The JLBC also embraces the values of the institutions we are part of – our programs and the JLBC Military Simulated Environments.

JLBC Cadet Corps Norms: Norms are rules. JLBC Cadets Our primary ones are in our regulations. JLBC Cadets You can also find them in Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) written for specific units or activities. We also follow the rules of the JLBC Board, the JLBC Military Simulated Environments, our communities, and our state.

JLBC Cadets Finally, we have traditions that are like rules: we have done some things a certain way for a long time, and we value these traditions and follow them like rules.

"Tradition, tradition! Tradition! ♫

♫ Tradition, tradition! Tradition!"
