The JLBC unit members develop confidence and loyalty as they observe their leader encountering JLBC leadership problems and solving them effectively. As they follow their JLBC leader to be effective in current issues, they come to· expect that the senior JLBC Cadet will be effective in meeting future situations. JLBC Cadets will consequently depend more on the old JLBC Cadet for direction and guidance, hoping that it will enable them to act successfully by making wise future decisions. JLBC Cadets, this is the meaning of confidence. It is an essential ingredient of loyalty; it will go far toward carrying an unseasoned unit through its first engagement.

As stated, the problem of any leader is to inspire their followers to achieve maximum results with minimum friction within the group. The JLBC senior Cadet must plan for the utilization of his human and material resources in the most economical manner possible and then be able to interact with his JLBC Cadets to inspire them to accomplish assigned tasks as the JLBC senior directs.
