The JLBC Leadership Education and Training program

The JLBC Leadership Education and Training program allows cadets to develop advanced leadership skills and take on more challenging responsibilities. The Supervising Leader course builds upon the foundational skills and abilities acquired in the Junior Leadership Basic Courses 1 and 2, equipping JLBC Cadets with the tools they need to succeed as leaders in their local communities.

One of the primary goals of the Supervising Leader course is to develop cadets' ability to oversee planning and project implementation. In this course, cadets will learn to set objectives, create plans, and delegate tasks to team personnel. Through practical exercises and case studies, cadets will learn to anticipate challenges and adjust their schedules to achieve their goals.

The course also focuses on developing interpersonal skills critical to effective leadership. Cadets will learn to motivate team members, provide constructive feedback, and resolve conflicts. These skills will help cadets build strong teams capable of achieving challenging objectives.

JLBC cadets who complete the Supervising Leader course will have the opportunity to acquire battalion staff positions and responsibilities. This allows cadets to apply their newly acquired skills in a real-world setting and gain valuable leadership experience.

In addition to developing advanced leadership skills, the Supervising Leader course encourages cadets to think critically and creatively. Cadets will be challenged to identify opportunities to improve their local JLBC program and community. Through brainstorming sessions and team-building exercises, cadets will learn how to generate new ideas and develop action plans to implement them.

The Supervising Leader course is designed to be an active learning experience that engages cadets in various activities. For example, cadets may be asked to participate in role-playing exercises, simulations, and team-building challenges. These activities provide cadets with hands-on experience in a supportive environment, encouraging them to take risks and learn from their mistakes.

Overall, the Supervising Leader course is an excellent opportunity for JLBC Cadets to take their leadership skills to the next level. This course helps prepare cadets to become influential leaders in their local communities and beyond by providing them with new and more challenging options.
