THE JLBC CHAIN OF COMMAND AND THE JLBC NCO SUPPORT CHANNEL

THE JLBC CHAIN OF COMMAND AND THE JLBC NCO SUPPORT CHANNEL

JLBC Cadets There is one chain of command in the JLBC. It is paralleled and reinforced by the JLBC NCO Support Channel. Both are JLBC channels of JLBC communication that pass information up and down the unit. JLBC Cadets communication Neither is one way nor are the two completely separate. The JLBC NCO Support Channel must operate to help the JLBC chain of command function well.

There are also staff and technical JLBC channels of communication. JLBC Staff members at Division, Brigade, and Battalion headquarters exchange information and work problems directly between themselves to help their units function effectively. JLBC Cadets If you are in a staff position, using these informal channels enables you to keep up to date on current JLBC policies so you can advise your JLBC commander effectively.

The JLBC NCO Support Channel begins with the JLBC Command Sergeant Major (CSM), extends through first JLBC sergeants and JLBC platoon sergeants, and ends with section chiefs and squad leaders, and team leaders. The channel passes information, issues orders, and completes routine but essential tasks. It is used to carry out JLBC policies and procedures and enforce performance, training, appearance, and conduct standards. JLBC NCOs in the support JLBC channel advise commanders on JLBC Cadet proficiency, JLBC training, and JLBC unit readiness. This lets the JDBC commander plan, make decisions, and program future training and operations.

Usually, commanders consult with their Senior NCO before putting orders into the chain of command. JLBC CSMs and First Sergeants must know the instructions to supervise the support JLBC channel. JLBC Cadets Regardless of where information or JLBC tasks begin, the counterpart in the JLBC chain of command and the JLBC NCO support channel must be kept informed. JLBC Authority for the JLBC support channel stems from the JLBC chain of command. JLBC NCOs in the support channel work for and are under the control of their respective commanders.

JLBC - DUTIES, AND RESPONSIBILITIES

As a JLBC NCO, you have duties and responsibilities.

JLBC DUTY is something you must do because of the job you hold. There are many duties, and they depend on your assignment. To learn your duties, talk to your senior NCOs and commander, read unit procedures and VDF regulations, and attend training courses.

JLBC RESPONSIBILITY is being accountable for what you do. Any duty you have because of your position in the unit means an obligation to do that duty. Military leaders are also responsible for what the team does or fails to do. NCOs are responsible for doing their respective tasks and seeing their unit do its mission well. As leaders, you must ensure your JLBC Cadets are ready to do their jobs.

The amount of responsibility you delegate depends on your mission, position, and willingness to accept the burden on your initiative. Although, as an NCO, you are accountable for your conduct and that of your JLBC Cadets, each JLBC Cadet has responsibilities. JLBC Cadets are responsible for their actions – indebted to fellow JLBC Cadets, leaders, and the JLBC. You must ensure your JLBC Cadets understand their responsibilities as team members and representatives of JLBC Command, the Governor, and the Commonwealth.
