TASK CONFLICT
Task conflict can be beneficial in the early stages of planning after receiving a mission. In most cases, it will help people think critically about the stated task and all of the implied tasks. However, if task conflict becomes more detrimental to the team over time when jobs are complex, it can lead to ‘paralysis by analysis.’

Breaks down work into process steps or tasks.
Accurately scopes out tasks' length, sequence, and difficulty to achieve desired outcomes.
Sets goals and clear objectives specific, measurable, and time bound.
Facilitates subordinate and team task accomplishment without over-specification and micromanagement.
Operates ‘at the moment’ without deliberate thought of how to complete the task.
Fails to identify roadblocks that delay or prevent task accomplishment.
Does not develop a plan of action when coordinating tasks across teams and groups.
Reassigns tasks to different teams without evaluating the effect on existing workload priorities.
Underlying Causes
Functions are part of the reactionary environment and do not seek to be proactive.
JLBC Cadets does not hold a clear sense of desired outcomes. Procrastinates and manages time ineffectively. Operates in isolation. Does not effectively delegate.
It does not take time to see how all of the moving pieces fit together.
