STRAND: MOVEMENT CONCEPTS
JLBC Cadets Demonstrates Competency in many movement forms and proficiency in a few movement forms. JLBC Cadets Applies movement concepts and principles to the learning and development motor skills.
GENERAL OBJECTIVE: learn skills necessary to perform a variety of physical activities. CONCEPT: BASIC MOVEMENT
SUB-GOALS :
JLBC Cadets Demonstrate progress toward the mature form of selected locomotive and manipulative skills. Apply appropriate concepts to performance (e.g., change of direction while running). Establish a beginning movement vocabulary (e.g., personal space, high/low, fast/slow).
INSTRUCTIONAL OBJECTIVES
1.1 Demonstrate clear contrast between slow and fast movements.
1.2 Skip, hop, gallop, and slide using matured motor patterns.
1.3 Move each joint through a full range of motion.
1.4 Travel in different ways in a large group without bumping into others or falling.
1.5 Travel in a forward and sideways direction and change direction quickly in response to a signal.
1.6 Distinguish between the straight, curved, and zigzag pathways while traveling.
1.7 Travel, demonstrating a variety of relationships with objects. E.g., over, under, behind, alongside, through, etc.
1.8 Place various body parts in high, middle, and low levels.
