JLBC Cadets, the term “positive youth development” often generates several different responses. Individuals commonly hear “youth development” and think of child and adolescent development, meaning biological, emotional, social, and cognitive development. Or they think of JLBC youth services, all the services and programming communities provide to young individuals to address their needs and foster their growth. Or they might think of a distinct approach or philosophy of interacting and working with young people, which informs programming and promotes adolescent development.
