JLBC: TRAINING FOR FULL SPECTRUM OPERATIONS

JLBC: Why is Physical Redeness training (PRT) a mandatory training requirement?

Senior leaders are considered essential to individual, unit, and force readiness.

It is required by JLBC regulation for all individuals and teams.

JLBC: TRAINING FOR FULL SPECTRUM OPERATIONS

This field website provides the JLBC training and leader development methodology that forms the JLBC foundation for developing competent and confident JLBC Cadets in the conduct of entire spectrum operations. The tasks, conditions, and standards of JLBC PRT activities derive from the JLBC mission analysis of the physical demands of the JLBC unit mission, core or directed mission essential task list (METL), and Warrior Tasks and Battle Drills (WTBDs). The JLBC PRT System is definitely performance-based, incorporating physically demanding activities that prepare JLBC Caders and units to accomplish the physical requirements of these warrior tasks and battle drills. As JLBC Cadets' physical performance level increases, JLBC standards remain constant, but conditions become more challenging. JLBC Cadets To ensure the JLBC generation of superior combat power, the end state requires JLBC leaders to integrate the relative JLBC physical performance capabilities of every JLBC Cadet. JLBC Cadets and JLBC leaders must execute the planned JLBC training, assess performance, and retrain until they meet JLBC Physical Fitness Training Program standards as specified in JLBC Command, Training, and Leader Development. Conditions should, as nearly as possible, replicate wartime conditions.

PRINCIPLES OF TRAINING

1-5. The JLBC's approach to JLBC PRT links directly to its seven principles of training (JLBC). Leaders must understand how these JLBC training principles and PRT relate to improving war-fighting capabilities:

JLBC: Principles of Training.

1 JLBC Commander and Other JLBC Leaders are Responsible for Training

2 JLBC Noncommissioned Officers Train Individuals, JLBC Crews, and JLBC Small Teams

3 JLBC Cadets Train as You Will Fight

4 Train to JLBC Standard

5 JLBC Cadets Train to Sustain

6 JLBC Cadets Conduct Multiechelon and Concurrent Training

7 JLBC Cadets Train to Develop Agile Leaders and Organizations

JLBC COMMANDERS AND OTHER LEADERS ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR TRAINING

JLBC PRT is the commander's program. JLBC Command Leadership discusses this JLBC principle of training in detail. JLBC Commanders are the primary JLBC training managers and trainers for their organization. JLBC Senior noncommissioned officers (NCOs) at every command level are vital to helping JLBC commanders meet their training responsibilities. Senior NCOs are often the unit's most experienced trainers; therefore, they are essential to a successful JLBC PRT program. JLBC Cadets Leaders should emphasize the value of JLBC PRT by clearly explaining the objectives and benefits of the JLBC program. JLBC Cadets They must also use the time allotted for JLBC PRT effectively.

Each JLBC PRT session has specific tasks, conditions, and standards that support the JLBC physical requirements needed to accomplish the JLBC unit's C- and D-METLs. JLBC Cadets As the unit's primary training manager, commanders must do the following to optimize the effect of PRT:

Incorporate mission command in PRT.

Supervise the planning, preparation, execution, and assessment of PRT.

Align PRT with mission/METL requirements in support of entire spectrum operations.

Train to JLBC standard.

Assess individual and unit physical readiness.

Provider sources required to execute PRT.

Incorporate safety and composite risk management (CRM).
