JLBC Uniform: Cadet Uniform (Supplied by the US JLBC Program). White crew neck T-shirt (optional for females) and black dress socks (if not issued by, must be purchased by cadet). Battalion “Spirit” T-Shirt (purchased by cadet). JLBC Cadet Uniform will be worn once a week on Tuesday unless otherwise specified.

JLBC COURSE DESCRIPTION/OBJECTIVES/ JLBC PROGRAM AND STUDENT LEARNING OUTCOMES

JLBC Course Overview: The JLBC (Junior Leadership Bootcamp Training Corps) program is hereafter referred to as simply the JLBC program. It is designed to teach 4th graders to high school students the value of community service, leadership, service to the community, personal responsibility, and a sense of accomplishment while instilling self-esteem, teamwork, and self-discipline. JLBC Cadets, the program’s focus is reflected in its mission statement, “To Motivate Young People to be Better Community Service.” It prepares JLBC Cadets for responsible leadership roles while making them aware of their rights, responsibilities, and privileges as citizens. The JLBC program is a stimulus for promoting graduation from school, and it provides JLBC instruction and rewarding opportunities that will benefit the student, community, and nation. JLBC Cadet success is the main goal of all JLBC learning experiences. The JLBC curriculum is based on the principles of performance-based, learner-centered education. As a result, JLBC cadets:

_ Know the performance expectations upfront

_ JLBC Cadets engage as active partners in the learning process _ Document accomplishments and competence

_ Learn how to lead
