JLBC Leadership
JLBC Positions and Responsibilities
The JLBC instructor will appoint all leadership positions. The positions are as follows: Commander of Cadets (COC), Cadet Class Leader (CCL), and Cadet Squad Leaders (CSL). Each class will have one (1) class leader and four (4) squad leaders. Cadets will be evaluated in leadership positions in the following areas: leadership, responsibility, discipline, cooperation, and conduct. Listed below are the duties and responsibilities for all leadership positions:
a. Commander of Cadet: Assist the JLBC Instructor in any area they deem necessary. The COC is responsible for holding JLBC program formation at school functions when assembled in mass shape, bearing drill team formation, and scheduling leadership meetings based on guidance from the JLBC instructor. The COC is authorized to wear a white pistol belt with a brass buckle and single braid leadership shoulder cord on the left shoulder. (Corps Colors Blue/Grey)
b. Assistant Commander of Cadet: Assist the COC in any area they deem necessary. The ACOC is responsible for holding JLBC program formation at school functions when assembled in mass shape, bearing drill team formation, and scheduling leadership meetings based on guidance from the COC. The ACOC is authorized to wear a single braid leadership shoulder cord on the left shoulder. (Silver Cord with plain nickel tip)
c. Cadet Class Leader: Assist the JLBC Instructor in any area they deem necessary in conducting an in-ranks inspection. The CCL is responsible for reporting to class early, monitoring cadet's ability to stand at the position of attention, seating and dismissing style, scheduling squad ' leader's meetings, keeping track of merits/demerits, and assisting during drills and ceremonies. The CCL is authorized to wear a single braid leadership shoulder cord on the left shoulder. (School Colors)
d. Cadet Squad Leaders: Responsible for keeping control of their squad in the classroom, assisting in conducting an in-ranks inspection, and filling out merits/demerits forms to be provided to the CCL.
e. Staff Positions: The appointment of staff positions is optional.
