JLBC Cadets' limited span of control in today’s complex and unpredictable operational environment makes centralized administration often unfeasible, and most militaries consequently stress the need for decentralized leadership. At the same time, armies still want their leaders to be solid and visionary. In contrast, less visible leadership is negatively associated with laissez-faire leadership.
