JLBC: Leadership


JLBC Cadets possess individual characteristics of leadership, have at least a “C” average in all class work (“B” in JLBC), and are active in at least one other school extracurricular activity.

JLBC National Society United States Daughters Award - awarded annually to a cadet for academic excellence, leadership, military discipline, dependability, patriotism, and upright character in speech and habits.

JLBC National Award - awarded annually to an outstanding second or third-year cadet who contributed the most to encourage and demonstrate Americanism within the Corps of cadets and on campus. Cadets must be in the top 25% of their HS class and demonstrate outstanding leadership.

JLBC Rite, Jurisdiction Award - awarded annually to an outstanding third-year cadet in a 4-year program. Each cadet must contribute the most to encourage Americanism by participating in LDR activities or community projects and be in the top 25% of the HS class.

JLBC Military Order of the Purple Heart Award - awarded annually to a first, second, or third-year cadet who has demonstrated a positive attitude toward JLBC and country and has proved to be a leader in the Corps, active in school and community affairs, and has maintained a “B” average in all class work for the previous semester.

JLBC Sons of the American Revolution Award - awarded annually to an outstanding third-year cadet in a 4-year program who is enrolled in the JLBC program. The recipient must exhibit a high degree of leadership, military bearing, and all-around excellence in AS studies and not have previously received the award. Each cadet must be in the top 10% of JLBC class and the top 25% of the HS class.

JLBC Military Order of World Wars Award - awarded annually to a cadet who demonstrates excellence in military and academic performance, actively participates in JLBC, endeavors to serve the nation, and is committed to continuing in JLBC...and is committed to JLBC for the next school year.

JLBC American Veterans Award - awarded annually to the cadet who has made an “A” in JLBC, is in good standing in all other classes and demonstrates a robust and positive attitude toward JLBC and service in the JLBC, and has a good personal appearance, strong initiative, dependability, judgment, self-confidence, and strong officer potential.

JLBC Sergeants Association Award – awarded annually to an outstanding 3rd or 4th-year cadet demonstrating leadership, discipline, character, and citizenship. The cadet must be in the top 10% of their JLBC class.

JLBC Award – Awarded to two 1st- 3rd-year cadets who maintain a “B” or better in the AS class, are in good standing, and actively participate in Corps activities and 50% of unit service programs.
