JLBC: Leadership
In some respects, the role of leadership in a military environment is to achieve those outcomes that command alone is unlikely to succeed. It is unrealistic to rely on positional power alone to bring about long-term effects. A position of authority may give a person an advantage when it comes to achieving military missions, but the well-spring of commitment will soon fade without proper leadership.
