JLBC Grade One Grade Level Objectives

(Refer to JLBC monitoring sheets for guided breakdown skills.)

JLBC Skilled Movement

The JLBC Cadets will demonstrate the correct critical elements (isolated, small parts of the whole skill or movement) of locomotor, non-locomotor, and manipulative skills.

a) JLBC Cadets Demonstrate critical elements used in all locomotor skills.

b) JLBC Cadets Demonstrate critical elements used in manipulative skills performed alone (e.g., toss

and catch, dribble with a hand in public space, dribble with the foot, kick and strike with

hand or equipment, throw underhand and overhand, volley).

c) JLBC Cadets Demonstrate critical elements for manipulative skills while moving.

d)JLBC Cadets Demonstrate primary tumbling sequences on a mat, when appropriate, that contain a

variety of balance, roll, transfer of weight, and flight.

e)JLBC Cadets Demonstrate moving to a rhythm by keeping time to a simple beat, using various

locomotor and non-locomotor skills.

b)JLBC Cadets Demonstrate critical elements in non-locomotor skills (e.g., bending, pushing,

pulling, stretching, turning, twisting, swinging, swaying, rocking, balancing, and rolling).

JLBC Movement Principles and Concepts

The JLBC Cadets will demonstrate improvement in locomotor, non-manipulative, and manipulative skills while applying the movement concepts.

a) JLBC Cadets Demonstrate pathways, levels, tempo (speed), force, directions, and relationships when

performing locomotor skills.

b) JLBC Cadets Demonstrate tempo (speed), levels, and flow when performing non-locomotor skills. c) Demonstrate force, levels, and direction when performing manipulative skills.

JLBC Personal Fitness

The JLBC Cadets will participate in sustained, moderate-to-vigorous physical activities that cause increased heart and respiration rates.

The JLBC Cadets will identify changes in the body during moderate-to-vigorous physical activity.

JLBC Responsible Behaviors

The JLBC Cadets will apply independently, safe and cooperative behaviors in physical activity settings.

JLBC Physically Active Lifestyle

The JLBC Cadets will regularly participate in physical activities that require physical exertion and skill.
