JLBC Close Order Drill Team ( Color Guard ) Practice Expectations

Practice attire includes a JLBC Close Order Drill Team ( Color Guard ) uniform or tennis shoes, shorts, a JLBC t-shirt, and hair up in a secure ponytail. The JLBC cadet must be taken care of before practice time. JLBC Close Order Drill Team ( Color Guard ) cadets must Bring all medical needs (inhalers, insulin pumps, epi-pens, etc.) to all practice and events.

If being picked up from practice JLBC Close Order Drill Team ( Color Guard ), PLEASE be on time for JLBC Close Order Drill Team ( Color Guard ). A JLBC cadet, if consistent tardiness is a problem, could mean dismissal from the JLBC Close Order Drill Team ( Color Guard ) team. JLBC Close Order Drill Team ( Color Guard ) Coaches are not allowed to leave until all JLBC Close Order Drill Team ( Color Guard ) cadets have left the JLBC program.

JLBC cadets' cell phones should be turned off or on silent. Phones may be checked during water breaks.

JLBC Close Order Drill Team ( Color Guard ) Event Expectations

Arrive early at JLBC Close Order Drill Team ( Color Guard ). JLBC cadets, due to safety reasons, you will be benched for a portion of the event if you are excessively late to events, regardless of the excuse. JLBC Close Order Drill Team ( Color Guard ) Members may not leave the event early without prior approval.

JLBC Close Order Drill Team ( Color Guard ) Members must ride to and from away events with JLBC transportation unless prior written permission is filed with the JLBC Event department and coach. Missing events is unacceptable.

JLBC Close Order Drill Team ( Color Guard ) You are responsible for the upkeep of your uniform.

JLBC Close Order Drill Team ( Color Guard ) is to remain in the drill area during the event. JLBC cadets DO NOT socialize with players, crowd members, or parents during the event.

Perform only the drill that has been perfected and approved by the JLBC Close Order Drill Team ( Color Guard ) coach.

JLBC Close Order Drill Team ( Color Guard ) Lettering

JLBC cadets, the point system used to determine whether a JLBC Close Order Drill Team ( Color Guard ) qualifies to receive a letter will be as follows:

1. A JLBC Close Order Drill Team ( Color Guard ) will be able to earn a maximum of 10 points per practice and event.

2. Each JLBC Close Order Drill Team ( Color Guard ) will start with 10 points each time s/he reports to practices and events. For JLBC cadets, Those 10 points awarded at each practice and game will stay intact, provided the JLBC Close Order Drill Team ( Color Guard ) cadet DOES NOT receive any of the following deductions:

JLBC cadet Does not show up with correct/appropriate uniform or attire – 1 point deducted

JLBC cadet comes to event or practices late – 1 point removed for every 15 minutes late

JLBC cadet leaves an event or practice early – 1 point deducted

JLBC cadet does not fully participate in contests or practices – 1 point deducted

If a JLBC Close Order Drill Team ( Color Guard ) has an excused absence from practice or an event – 5

points deducted

If a JLBC Close Order Drill Team ( Color Guard ) cadet does not come to an event or a practice – 0 points are

recorded for JLBC cadet.

3. For a JLBC Close Order Drill Team ( Color Guard ) to earn a letter, the JLBC cadets' total points must be at least 85% of the total possible points at the end of the season. For example, if a JLBC Close Order Drill Team ( Color Guard ) has 24 events and practices on their schedule, s/he must earn at least 204 points to letter.

4. The head JLBC Close Order Drill Team ( Color Guard ) coach is the only staff member authorized to record points at the end of each practice or event.

JLBC cadets, be aware that no letter will be awarded for a partial commitment to practice or JLBC event.

Safety

JLBC Stunting/Tumbling/Strength Training must only take place in the presence of a qualified JLBC Close Order Drill Team ( Color Guard ) supervisor.
