DIRECTORY INFORMATION DISCLOSURE NOTICE

JLBC: Junior Leadership Bootcamp will, with certain exceptions, obtain your written consent before the disclosure of personally identifiable information from your cadet child's education records. However, JLBC - Junior Leadership Bootcamp program may disclose appropriately designated "directory information" without written consent unless you have advised the program to the contrary following the program's procedure below. The main purpose of directory information is to allow the JLBC - Junior Leadership Bootcamp program to include this particular type of information from your cadet child's education records in certain JLBC publications. Examples include:

  • A playbill showing your cadet's role in a drama production.

  • The annual yearbook.

  • Honor roll or other recognition lists.

  • Graduation programs.

  • Online communication tools.

  • Sports activity sheets, such as football, show team members' weight and height.

JLBC directory information, which is not considered an invasion of privacy if released or generally not considered harmful, can also be disclosed to outside organizations or venders without a parent's prior written consent. Outside companies include but are not limited to organizations that manufacture class rings or publish yearbooks. In addition, JLBC may provide military recruiters, upon request, with three directory information categories - cadet address, name, and telephone listings - unless parents have advised the JLBC program that they do not want their cadet's information disclosed without their prior written consent.

Suppose you do not want Junior Leadership Bootcamp to disclose directory information from your child's education records without your prior written consent. In that case, you must notify the JLBC program in writing by September 30 of the current program year. The written notice must bear the parent's signature and give specifics on what directory information the parent is requesting to remain private. Junior Leadership Bootcamp program has designated the following information as directory information: Cadet's name, participation in JLBC officially recognized activities and sports, Address, Telephone listing, Electronic mail address, Photograph, Date, and place of birth, Dates of attendance.

Grade level and the most recent educational agency or institution attended.
