Community service is a vital aspect of the JLBC Cadet Corps curriculum

Community service is a vital aspect of the JLBC Cadet Corps curriculum, which is aimed at helping young cadets build a strong sense of responsibility and compassion towards their local community. As part of the core curriculum, all JLBC Cadet Corps cadets must participate in at least two community service events each year, which not only helps foster a positive relationship with the local community but also gives the cadets a deeper understanding of different lives and experiences.

Through community service, the JLBC Cadet Corps seeks to instill in its cadet values such as respectfulness and fairness, which are essential for building a just and equitable society. By participating in community service events, cadets are exposed to various social, economic, and cultural backgrounds, which helps broaden their perspectives and deepen their empathy.

In the past, JLBC Cadet Corps cadets have collaborated with various military organizations such as the Gold Star Mothers, Blue Star Mothers, Veteran Welcome Home Centers, Boy Scouts of America, VFWs, Mothers of America, and Habitat for Humanity. These organizations provide various community service opportunities for cadets, from volunteering at food banks and homeless shelters to participating in community clean-up events and neighborhood beautification projects.

By working with these organizations, JLBC Cadet Corps cadets can make a tangible difference in the lives of others, which can be both rewarding and fulfilling. Moreover, the skills and experiences they gain through community service events will serve them well in their future careers and personal lives.

In conclusion, community service is a crucial component of the JLBC Cadet Corps curriculum, as it helps instill a strong sense of responsibility and compassion towards their local community. Cadets participate in community service events and gain valuable experiences and perspectives that will serve them well for the rest of their lives.
